COVID-19 Vaccine Center Launched in Jeddah
24 December 2020

A coronavirus vaccine center has been launched in Jeddah on Thursday at King Abdulaziz Airport, marking the beginning of the vaccination campaign in the province.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has called on citizens and residents to take the initiative and register for the vaccine in order to preserve their health and safety and protect them from being infected with the virus. It reiterated that the vaccine is free for all citizens and residents in implementation of the directives of the wise leadership. It confirmed the safety and efficacy of the vaccine after passing all testing stages, which resulted in strong immune response and continuous antibodies.

According to Jeddah Health Affairs, the center is located at the Airport’s southern terminal. It has been designed to receive large numbers of people in an organized way through 84 clinics managed by specialist medical staff. Other sites within the province will be prepared to serve as vaccination centers. It is the second inoculation facility across the Kingdom after Riyadh.

For his part, the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Mr. Abdulhadi Al-Mansouri, expressed his thanks and gratitude to the wise leadership for providing the necessary health care to maintain the safety of all citizens and residents. “Since the beginning of the pandemic, all government agencies, in integration with MOH and all relevant parties, have joined efforts to achieve that objective”, he said. He added that the GACA has harnessed all its capabilities and facilities to combat the spread of the virus in the Kingdom.

This project that we are launching today in collaboration with the Ministry comes as a continuation of joint action, he said, confirming that the airport’s southern terminal is ready to receive citizens and residents willing to get COVID-19 vaccine amid the required precautionary measures.
