32,000 People Benefit from Services of Diabetes Center at Hira General Hospital

​The Endocrinology and Diabetes Center at Hira General Hospital provided its health, educational and curative services this year to 32,000 inpatients and outpatients in all specialties. The center receives patients in several clinics, including sorting clinic, diabetes clinic (pediatric), endocrinology clinic (pediatric), diabetes clinic (adults), endocrine clinic (adults), diabetes clinic (pregnant women), nutrition clinic, optometry clinic, diabetic foot assessment clinic, insulin pump clinic, and a spare-parts clinic, in addition to a section devoted to health education. 

In this section, patients are educated on how to use insulin pumps, types of insulin, how to use glucose monitors, and complications of the disease, such as a sudden drop in blood glucose. In the past three months, the center recorded 727 new cases; as a treatment plan was presented to them under the supervision of the medical staff.

The center provides several services, including dispensing glucose monitors to patients, providing nutritional programs, and distributing awareness and guidance brochures on diabetes. The center has also provided several new services, like cumulative glucose devices in clinics, which show results within a few minutes. These devices help diagnose patients' conditions more accurately and quickly.
