According to Al-Qunfudah Health Affairs, since it was lanced to date, the Gastrointestinal Tract and Liver Unit of South Al-Qunfudah General Hospital has served 7,403 patients. Also, endoscopes were made for 2,216 patients and medicines dispensed for 100 patients, it said, adding that the unit is enhanced with all necessary devices to serve patients and provide them with the appropriate medical care. The unit aims to provide medical and diagnostic services to reduce referral of cases outside the directorate.
The Affairs added that the unit features an endoscopy unit that provides upper and lower digestive endoscopy service, whether diagnostic or therapeutic, in addition to biliary endoscopy, as well as a clinic for the digestive system and liver to follow up cases from all hospitals.
It is noteworthy that the hospital is accredited as a center for viral hepatitis diagnosis and treatment.
