The Assistant Minister of Health and MOH spokesman, Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdulaali, stated that the Kingdom is ranked among the best and fastest world countries for COVID-19 testing, and more than 95% of results completed within 24 hours. Currently, we are going through a safety phase and during the upcoming phases we will have more gains and control over the pandemic, he added.
He revealed that 561 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the Kingdom, bringing the total cases to 331,359. These include 13,004 active cases, still receiving medical care. Their health status is mostly stable, with the exception of 1,095 critical cases.
During the COVID-19 press conference he held today (Wednesday), Al-Abdulaali pointed out that 1,102 cases have been recovered, bringing the total recoveries to 313,786 cases, all praise is due to Allah. Also, 27 new deaths have been reported; bringing the total deaths to 4,569. About 41% of the new reported cases are females, and 59% are males. Only 3% of the cases are older persons, 11% are children, and 86% are adults. Moreover, 48,854 new lab tests for COVID-19 have been conducted in the Kingdom’s laboratories, bringing the total to 6,190,822.
