Al-Abdulaali: KSA Is Member of COVID-19 Treatment Support Organization; and Will Get Effective Vaccine upon Approval

The Assistant Minister of Health and MOH spokesman, Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdulaali, stated that Saudi Arabia is an integral part of the world’s leading efforts to confront Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. “The Kingdom is a member of COVID-19 Treatment Support Organization; and hence will get its share of effective vaccine upon approval. Adherence to precautions is important to everyone's safety,” said Al-Abdulaali.


MOH spokesman made this statement in COVID-19 briefing held on Sunday, highlighting that now we are reaping the fruits of «Return with Caution», all praise is due to Allah. However, we still observe some people’s behaviors of not adhering to the precautionary measures in different public places; the matter which may expose all of us to danger. Besides, he pointed out that all indicators are positive; as active cases dipped by over 75% from their highest number.

Al-Abdulaali highlighted that 483 new confirmed cases of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) have been reported in the Kingdom; thus bringing the total number to 329,754 confirmed cases, including 14,830 active cases, receiving the necessary medical care. Of these, there are 1,138 critical cases, while the health condition of the rest is stable. In addition, 1,009 cases have been recovered, bringing the total recoveries to 310,439 cases, all praise is due to Allah. Also, 27 new deaths have been reported; bringing the total deaths to 4,485, May Allah bestow His mercy upon them.

He added that about 43% of the new reported cases are females, and 57% are males. Only 4% of the cases are older persons, 11% are children, and 85% are adults. Moreover, 40,033 new lab tests for COVID-19 have been conducted; bringing the total lab tests to 6,049,949 in the Kingdom’s laboratories.
