According to Najran Health Affairs, over the first six months of this year, radiology departments of Najran hospitals have served 97,526 patients, with 149,360 total diagnostic radiology examinations.
“These radiology examinations included 95,712 X-ray images (by mobile and fixed devices), 4,922 MRI scans, 17,306 CT scans, 28,079 ultrasound (Sonography) scans, 713 angiography catheters, 589 radioscopies, 910 IR images, 571 DEXA scans, 543 nuclear medicine images, in addition to 411 mammogram images, stated the Affairs.
It is worth mentioning that Najran Health Affairs has recently launched Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) at radiology department of King Khalid Hospital; to electronically link it with Sharurah General Hospital, Maternity and Children Hospital, and Khabash Hospital, in addition to seven healthcare centers. This e-link aims to follow up and archive radiological images, exchange medical consultations between physicians, and prepare medical reports; to serve patients efficiently and quickly and meet their satisfaction.
