MOH: 93 Percent of COVID-19 Cases Recovered

​The Assistant Minister of Health and MOH spokesman, Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdulaali, stated that the number of recoveries from the COVID-19 continues to rise, pushing the recovery rate to 93 per cent. “Currently, we are witnessing a decline in the critical cases and in the confirmed cases; however, the commitment to the precautionary should not be relaxed”, he emphasized.


He revealed that 601 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the Kingdom, bringing the total cases to 325,651. These include 19,513 active cases, still receiving medical care. Their health status is mostly stable, with the exception of 1,326 critical cases.

Al-Abdulaali made this statement during the COVID-19 brief held on Sunday, which also hosted the Vice President of National platform at Saudi E-Government “Yesser”, Eng. Yasser Al-Shammari.
He pointed out that 1,034 cases have been recovered, bringing the total recoveries to 302,870 cases, all praise is due to Allah. Also, 28 new deaths have been reported; bringing the total deaths to 4,268. About 44% of the new reported cases are females, and 56% are males. Only 4% of the cases are older persons, 12% are children, and 84% are adults. Moreover, 36,222 new lab tests for COVID-19 have been conducted in the Kingdom’s laboratories, bringing the total to 5,722,477.

For his part, Eng. Al-Shammari said that, since its establishment in 2005, the E-Government Program «Yesser» has been working to achieve the government’s aspirations to support the digital transformation process in the Kingdom in line with the Saudi Vision 2030. The program is doubling its efforts to increase the use of technology in government agencies, and to support the provision of government services electronically, in line with the Vision. 

He pointed out that the program is working side by side with government agencies to support their efforts to reduce the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He added that the program has provided a number of products and services to upgrade the digital transformation in the government agencies, including the unified national platform which enables its visitors to access more than 1,000 government services. Also, the platform enables the visitors to access all information of 250 agencies, including digital maps, website, email and phone numbers.
He pointed out that the E-Government Program «Yesser» is a unified platform to access everything about the Kingdom. The program has launched the national reference on COVID-19 to document the exerted efforts to fight the pandemic. The national reference includes decisions, procedures, materials and information about COVID-19, as well as over 300 contents.
