The MOH’s Health Volunteer Center has recently concluded its “Health Awareness Volunteering” campaign which was launched in conjunction with the gradual return to normal life under the theme: “We Return with Caution”. The campaign lasted for 6 weeks with the aim of backing the government efforts in health education and spreading awareness across the Kingdom.
The campaign has targeted mosques, shopping centers and public markets, government agencies, factories and labor residences and mainly focused on disseminating reliable health information and intensifying awareness about the necessary preventive measures and performing visual triage for beneficiaries to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and reduce new infections.
Over 3,600 health volunteers have taken part in the campaign, with a total of more than 874,560 volunteering hours in 20 cities and provinces around the Kingdom. The volunteers, who have been trained to provide the health awareness and education in a professional manner, have successfully educated more than 6 million beneficiaries. Also, the awareness campaign has included 1,323 mosques, 169 government agencies, 359 shopping centers, 290 public markets, 68 factories and 746 labor residences; thus contributing to the return to the normal life and maintaining the safety and health of community members.
Noteworthy, the “Health Awareness Volunteering” campaign is one of the quality participation and effective field programs of the Health Volunteer Center, which was recently established at MOH. The center aims to manage and regulate health volunteering. It also seeks to participate in developing volunteering legislations and regulations and laying the foundations for monitoring the health volunteering at MOH.
