16 July 2020

The acute heart attack initiative launched by Prince Sultan Cardiac Center- Qassim has saved the lives of 5 patients with acute heart attack symptoms in a record time of no more than 4 hours and 10 minutes. According to medical reports, the first case arrived at 06:10 am and the 5th case ended at 10:20 am, at an average of 48 minutes for each case.

The 2-stage initiative aims at reducing the waiting time of the acute heart attack patients at public and private hospitals, and their arrival at Prince Sultan Cardiac Center as quickly as possible.

The first stage of the initiative, which operates 24/7, targeted all region’s hospitals within a 120 km range and included 13 public and private hospitals. The second stage included all hospitals in the region, according to Qassim Health Cluster.

It is noteworthy that the initiative, which was recently launched by Qassim Health Cluster, has achieved positive results including reducing the waiting time at hospitals where doctors of the Center coordinate directly with the hospital through an approved medical protocol, which includes blood thinners for acute heart attack patients.
