Jazan Health Affairs has launched a number of initiatives, in conjunction with the precautionary measures taken by the Ministry of Health (MOH) to protect citizens and residents and to stop the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19). During March and April, the Home Health Care Department has launched nine initiatives, benefiting 15,217 persons. Also, the hospitals in the region, through 29 teams, has conducted 9,400 home medical visits for 2,100 patients enrolled in the home healthcare Program.
The most important of these initiatives are the visual triage for patients and their accompanying families, the delivery of medicines, medical supplies and nutritional supplements, the psychological and social support for home health care patients, the health education for patients and their families, the provision of palliative care for cancer patients at their homes, the audio-visual communication with families of patients, in addition to other initiatives.
