MOH Advices People to Reduce Sodium-Rich Diet in Ramadan
28 April 2020

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has provided a number of health tips on the holy month of Ramadan, as part of its awareness campaign «Fast Healthy», launched in collaboration with SABIC Company. Through an awareness infographic published on its e-platform: «Live Well» and on its Twitter page, MOH has advised all members of the society, to necessarily reduce sodium-rich diet to avoid feeling thirsty, and to have water-rich foods (e.g. vegetables and fruits), especially for Suhoor meal to prevent dehydration.

Besides, MOH has urged everyone to reduce the intake of glucose Syrups, canned or powdered juices, highlighting that they have few benefits, as they contain large amounts of sugar, artificial coloring and flavors, in addition to being free from natural fruits.

These awareness activities come in continuation of MOH’s efforts to maintain the health and safety of fasting people, to promote health awareness, and to encourage healthy lifestyle.
