Al-Rabiah Commends Wise Leadership’s Support for Health Sector

​The Health Minster, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah has expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince for allocating additional amounts of SR 47 billion to the health sector. The Kingdom also has provided $ 500 million to support international efforts in the fight against COVID-19. 


In a televised address today (Monday), he said the active surveillance performed in neighborhoods and houses led to the spike in the numbers of daily reported coronavirus infections.

Pointing to a lot of social activities during the month of Ramadan, Al-Rabiah said this month will be different from previous ones due to our commitment to the precautions and social distancing. He said that the number of COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom have exceeded 10,000 infections.

Regarding the fight against COVID-19, he said the G20 health ministers’ meeting discussed the formulation of a joint plan to tackle the coronavirus and sharing the best practices and innovative effective solutions submitted by the member states to contain the disease. 

Al-Rabiah hailed the efforts exerted by all state sectors under the support and follow-up of the wise leadership to deal with COVID-19 in order to maintain the health and safety of the citizens and residents.    

 He extended his thanks and appreciation to his colleagues, the health heroes, who are at the frontlines in the fight against COVID-19. He praised the participation of remarkable numbers of volunteers through the national platform for health volunteering. 

He called on everyone who has inquiries or willing to get medical advice on everything related to COVID-19 to call 937 service center, which works around the clock.

Concluding his statement, he reiterated the importance of staying home, which is our strongest weapon against COVID-19.
