The Poison Control and Medical Forensic Chemistry Center - Eastern Region has obtained the accreditation of the College of American Pathologists (CAP), after meeting its accreditation requirements. This accreditation reflects the center's efforts in applying the international quality standards. It is noted that the center had earlier obtained ISO accreditation, and is run by a Saudi staff at a rate of 98%.
It is worth mentioning that CAP is one of the most important accreditation institutions for medical laboratories in the world. Its membership features a large number of pathologists, and plays a leading role in the quality assurance of medical laboratories worldwide.
