According to Jazan Health Affairs, since March 2018, the medical team at Prince Muhammad bin Nasser Hospital has successfully performed more than 110 sleeve gastrectomy and obesity treatment without any complications.
"Obese patients go through a series of preoperative stages prior to the laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy as per the treatment principles adopted in dealing with obesity cases. At the beginning, the patient is transferred to the nutrition clinic to receive treatments commensurate with his weight and body mass. After the surgical intervention decision is taken, the patient will undergo x-ray examinations, lab tests and preoperative preparations. Also, the medical team will determine the appropriate medical intervention, which includes: Sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass or gastric balloon. The patient will be briefed on the appropriate medical intervention for his condition prior to getting his written approval for the surgery. The patient can leave the hospital the day after surgery and will be recommended to follow-up with the bariatric clinic" adds the Affairs.
It is noteworthy that the Affairs has recently launched the sleeve gastrectomy and obesity treatment at King Fahad Central Hospital and Prince Muhammad bin Nasser Hospital by specialized team in all types of obesity.
