According to Al-Jouf Health Affairs, a medical team at King Abdulaziz Specialist Hospital's Cochlear Implant Center has successfully conducted 40 cochlear implants on children with an average age of 4 from different regions of the Kingdom. By Allah's Grace, during this year, the center is expected to conduct 80 cochlear cases currently under evaluation.
"The center, which is the main reference center for the northern region hospitals, features a state-of-the-art hearing and speech unit enhanced with qualified Saudi medical staff. All patients are rehabilitated before and after surgeries", it said.
The center helped to alleviate the suffering of citizens in need of intensive rehabilitation in hearing and speech for two or three times a week and for long time, and helped reduce transport and travel costs borne by patient's family.
