MOH: Balanced Diets Facilitates Movement of Umrah Performers

​The Ministry of Health (MOH) underscored that balanced diets and eating less facilitate the movement of Umrah performers effectively. In an awareness infographic published on its twitter page within its campaign: «Healthy Umrah», MOH has highlighted that adequate fluid intake is one of the most important nutrition tips that should be followed by Umrah performers. MOH also underlined that it is better for Umrah performers to divide their food into three main meals, in addition to two others of fruits and vegetables, meanwhile avoiding meals containing protein, minerals, and saturated fats. “Balanced diets control the blood glucose level and help reduce the symptoms of gastrointestinal reflux, and the distribution of meals into moderate portions contributes to weight loss,” MOH pointed out.


It is worth mentioning that such awareness-raising activities come in continuation of MOH's efforts to maintain the health and safety of Umrah performers, to promote health awareness, and to urge them to adopt healthy behaviors.
