MOH Launches Awareness Activity «Your Medication during Ramadan»

​The Ministry of Health (MOH), represented by the Pharmaceutical Care General Department (Drug Education and Pharmaceutical Information Section), has launched today (Sunday) a pharmaceutical education awreness activity under the title «Your Medication during Ramadan», with the participation of health affairs directorates across the Kingdom. The 5-day activity covered 135 hospitals, healthcare centers and shopping malls. 


According to MOH, all patients repeated questions about drug intake during Ramadan will be answered, their effect on fasting patient's body and how to take them for the sake of patient safety and to prevent any relapses. This comes in support of a future vision of providing comprehensive healthcare at the highest international levels. In addition to answering patients' questions, MOH will distribute awareness leaflets on drug intake during Ramadan.

It is noteworthy that specialists will give many tips and instructions needed by patients on dealing with medications during Ramadan including antibiotics, epilepsy and heart medication, general tips for patients with hypertension and diabetes and best means to use insulin, as well as drugs for lowering the glucose level and insulin injections
