According to Al-Ahsa Health Affairs, during last year, Prince Sultan Cardiac Center conducted 1,657 open-heart surgeries (1,409 for adults and 258 for children) with 96% success rate. Also, outpatient clinics served 70,637 patients. The center was ranked first among Ministry of Health's (MOH) cardiac centers for the services provided at the outpatient clinics in accordance with the results of patient experience measurement at the end of the first half of the same year.
The Affairs said that Prince Sultan Cardiac Center (with a capacity of 73 beds) provides specialized cardiac care services for all cardiac patients through an elite of physicians, nurses and technicians. During the past year, the center provided medical services and quality surgeries with excellence, which is a link in a chain of achievements, including 8 artificial heart transplant operations with 96% success rate, with the inclusion of catheterization technique for treating electrical heart disorders.
The center has obtained accreditation of the Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) at a rate of 95%, in addition to accreditation with excellence by the American Global Healthcare Accreditation (GHA) for its Medical Travel Services Program. It is the first center accredited by GHA in the Middle East and the eights internationally. Also, it is the first center in the Middle East to register with the European database of the European Society of Cardiology.
