During its recent meeting chaired by His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, the National Tobacco Control Committee (NTCC) discussed adoption of the National Tobacco Control Strategy 2030. The Strategy is based on the best global and national tobacco control initiatives and practices, most prominently the protection of young people against smoking harms and the development of standards for smoke-free workplaces. Also, the performance indicators were identified to follow up and evaluate implementation of the strategy phases; in an endeavor to come up with a global model of tobacco control in 2030. During the meeting, the Field Inspection Committees in the regions were honored for their efforts in monitoring violations of Anti-Smoking Law over the last period.
