Jazan: 6 Open-Heart Surgeries and 94 Cardiac Catheterization Procedures Done at Prince Muhammad bin Nasser Hospital Last November

​According to Jazan Health Affairs, over last November, Prince Muhammad bin Nasser Hospital has performed 6 open-heart surgeries and 94 cardiac catheterization procedures including 76 for adults, 13 emergencies and 5 for children. Also, the cardiovascular surgery department performed 16 surgical operations. ​

During the same period, the oncology department and chemotherapy unit handled 316 cases. The hospital also performed 191 eye surgery, 89 general surgeries including 21 emergencies, and ENT department performed 12 surgeries and 18surgeries at the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery, as well as 317 births at obstetrics and gynecology department, adds the Affairs. 

These steps come in line with MOH's efforts to achieve one of its objectives in the National Transformation Program (NTP) 2020, in terms of improving the health care provided before hospitalization and at emergency and ICU departments of main hospitals. Also, this goal is related to one of the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030, in terms of improving the quality of both preventive and therapeutic healthcare services.
