Health Minister Honors Winners of National Patient Safety Award

​His Excellency the Health Minister, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah will patronize next Sunday prizes awarding ceremony of the National Patient Safety Award in its first edition, and the launch of the first international conference of the Saudi Patient Safety Center (SPSC) with the participation of over 90 speakers from 19 local and international organizations and 10 participating countries. The events are organized by the SPSC, which is reckoned a national reference in the field of patient safety.


More than 1000 persons participated in the award's three categories: health facilities, health practitioners, community members and institutions.  A team of highly qualified arbitrators in the field of patient safety have sorted the participations and selected candidates for the final stage. 

For his part, Director-General of the SPSC Dr. Abdulelah Al-Hawsawi highlighted the importance of working diligently to develop everything related to patient safety, which is a key element in the health sector, underlining the importance of developing this aspect during the coming years. 
He said, "The Health Minister, who is also Chairman of the SPSC Board of Directors, pays great attention to the Center and follows up its work closely in order for the Center to achieve its desired goals". 

"We in the SPSC seek to modify the community culture in general and focus on upgrading the health practitioner performance through several cutting-edge training programs with the aim of qualifying him to be an active element in patient safety. We also work to raise the community awreness and enabling them to know their rights within the health facilities", Al-Hawsawi added.
