According to Jazan Health Affairs, over the past month, Samtah General Hospital provided its health services to 27,000 patients (16,364 emergencies and 10,640 outpatients), in addition to 362 inpatients. It also performed 298 birth cases, 240 major and minor surgeries, 1114 dialysis sessions, 47,164 laboratory tests (pathology and blood chemistry tests), 5,478 x-ray examinations, 1,152 rehabilitation sessions, and 164 home medical visits, in addition to 20,300 medical prescriptions dispensed to patients.
These steps come in line with MOH's efforts to achieve one of its objectives in the National Transformation Program (NTP) 2020, in terms of improving the health care provided before hospitalization and at emergency and ICU departments of main hospitals. Also, this goal, which is associated with one of the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030, is to improve the quality of both preventive and therapeutic healthcare services.
