The Ministry of Health (MOH) warns against selling medications via fake accounts, due to the harm they cause to individual and community. Through an awareness campaign published on its Twitter page entitled "Fake Accounts on Social Media", MOH seeks to prevent selling of unlicensed medications which are of unknown source and not prescribed by a competent physician. It calls on everyone to call 937 to report fake accounts which promote the sale of these medications, as well as points of sale.
MOH confirmed that violators are liable to imprisonment of up to six months and license abolition for practitioners and health institutions, as well as a fine up to SR 100,000. These awareness activities come as a continuation of MOH’s efforts to maintain the health and safety of all community members, to promote health awareness and to urge individuals to adopt healthy behaviors.
