The Ministry of Health (MOH) and Ministry of Education (MOE) have called upon parents of primary first grade students to complete vaccination of their sons in accordance with the National Immunization Schedule to protect them against vaccine-targeted illnesses which include polio, DPT, MMR and chickenpox. All these vaccinations are available at the primary healthcare centers in the kingdom.
It is noted that the Kingdom has completely controlled polio and has been polio-free since 1995. The Kingdom also exerts constant efforts to prevent infiltration of the epidemic from plagued countries. Likewise, the Kingdom is the first Arab and Middle East country to use children vaccines, including polio vaccine, with no single recorded case since 1995 to date, thanks Allah.
On the other hand, MOH has recently launched a campaign to introduce
vaccination reminder service targeting parents across the Kingdom. The campaign comes in continuation of MOH's efforts to maintain children's health and protect them and all community members against diseases.
MOH has launched a service to remind parents of their children basic vaccination schedule by sending them a message via mobile phone or email one week before the vaccination date. The campaign is in line with MOH's directives to utilize the cutting-edge technologies and to achieve the optimal benefits from them to positively affect the health services.
It is noteworthy that MOH has launched several quality service programs with the aim of developing work mechanism and upgrading performance level; thus, contributing to improving health services provided for citizens and meet their satisfaction in line with the National Transformation Program 2020 towards achieving the Saudi Vision 2030.
