Hafr Al-Batin: 7,764 Births at Maternity and Children Hospital Last Year

​​​According to recent statistical data disseminated by Hafr Al-Batin Health Affairs, during 1439H., the Maternity and Children Hospital performed 7,764 births, 5,079 surgical operations, served 244,235 patients at the emergency section, 61,695 at outpatient clinics, 21,098 inpatients, in addition to providing 272,787 meals. Also, the hospital received 313 patients refereed from other hospitals, issued 287,232 prescriptions, and performed 1,165,801 lab tests.


It is noteworthy that, during the same year, 1439H., the 200-bed hospital witnessed many developmental projects including inauguration of pediatrics' kidney unit project, neonatal intensive care project, and intravenous solutions and feeding unit, in addition to installing a MRI scanner at the radiology section. As well, the hospital was enhanced with several cutting-edge medical appliances which contributed to developing performance and improving services provided to patients. They included installation of Pneumatic Tube System (PTS), which is designed to transfer samples from all departments to the laboratory section. Also, the radiology section was enhanced with the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), which is an integrated automated system used for saving, distributing and displaying the radiographic images including X-rays and ECHOs.  

In addition, the hospital was enhanced with 3 anesthesia machines for children and women, 45 incubators, one pediatric EEG, 2 vein detectors, 30 oximeters, 5 high frequency ventilators for children and women, 5 suction units, 5 pediatric inhalers, 17 laboratory units and 2 pediatric audiometers.
