The National Tobacco Control Committee (NTCC)-Al-Qurayyat Province has recorded several violations of Tobacco Control Law at 4 tobacco shops. The committee, comprising the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, and the Ministry of Commerce and Investment, has destroyed 150 kg of prohibited materials and applied penalties against violators.
The competent authorities continued their inspection tours on a number of shops selling tobacco and jrak, and violators were made to sign a pledge not to repeat such violations and to abide by specifications and standards issued by Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) within a week of the date of issuance.
