Najran: 42 Violations of Tobacco Control Law Recorded

​As part of their ongoing visits, Najran tobacco control teams have conducted, during last September, 64 inspection visits to tobacco sale points and recorded 42 violations. These violations included selling packs of less than 10 cigarettes, blended tobacco, as well as selling shamma (chewing tobacco), mua'ssel of less than 500 grams and tobacco products without warning statements. The products were confiscated and destroyed completely. Also, 50 inspection visits to health facilities were conducted during the same period, and no violations of the tobacco control law were recorded. The visits also included commercial facilities (hotels and coffee shops) which allow smoking in designated areas, where 10 violations of the law were recorded.
