According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), an integrated plan for the automation of laboratories has been implemented at health facilities through providing «the Automatic Laboratory», which conducts tests automatically without human intervention; thus contributing to improving the accuracy of results and conducting the largest possible tests in record time. Also, this lab will reduce staff workload, and works with a «Multi-Specialty» Strategy, in terms of linking units of chemistry, hormones, blood clotting disorders, in addition to special chemistry and pharmaceutical evaluation.
MOH pointed out that the integrated automatic laboratories features 14 laboratories at each of: King Saud Medical City-Riyadh, Riyadh Regional Laboratory, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Hospital-Riyadh, King Abdullah Hospital-Jeddah, East Jeddah Hospital, King Salman Specialist Hospital-Hail, King Fahd Hospital-Tabuk, Maternity and Children Hospital-Makkah, King Faisal Hospital-Makkah, Al-Noor Specialist Hospital-Makkah, King Fahd Hospital-Madinah, King Abdulaziz Specialist Hospital-Taif, King Faisal Medial Complex-Taif, King Khalid Hospital-Najran. MOH added that such hospitals are implementing 11 similar projects.
