Health Guidelines for Asthma Sufferers during Hajj
03 August 2018

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has offered a number of health guidelines for asthma suffers, who intend to perform Hajj this year (1439H.). Through an awareness infographic published on its Twitter page, MOH has highlighted the importance of consulting doctors before leaving for Hajj, getting some rest, avoiding overcrowding, heading to emergency department in case of not responding to rescue inhaler during asthma attack, using bronchodilator before physical activity, wearing a wristband with patient's information, as well as carrying asthma inhalers. The infographic also showed that overcrowding, dust and vehicle exhaust emissions are among dyspnea (shortness of breath) triggers.

This comes within MOH’s awareness campaign titled: #حج_بصحة (i.e. healthy Hajj), as part of its awareness activities during this year’s Hajj season.
