King Abdullah Hospital-Bisha has successfully conducted a surgery for a one-day-old premature baby (weighing 1.5 kg) with intestinal obstruction. The diagnosis revealed that his condition required medical intervention, as only 20 cm of intestines were intact, which are not enough for him to survive. Thus, the lower intestines have surgically been repaired, while the damaged parts have been resected. The baby continued to receive parenteral nutrition at the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). By Allah’s Grace, and thanks to the medical observation and follow-up, the baby could fully nurse, and all his vital signs are normal.
