King Faisal Complex-Taif: A Youth with Blunt Cardiac Injury Saved
12 December 2017
A team of thoracic surgeons at King Faisal Medical Complex-Taif has successfully saved the life of a young man with a blunt cardiac injury, as he was brought to the emergency department in a very serious condition. After due medical examinations, he was diagnosed with cardiac tamponade, which required an urgent cardiac exploratory procedure, which revealed a rupture in the right ventricle.  The rupture has been surgically repaired, then the patient was taken to the ICU, where he stayed for 24 hours until he was removed from the ECMO machine. By Allah’s Grace, the patient was discharged from the hospital in a stable condition.
