According to Hail Health Affairs, a Saudi medical team at the Bariatric Surgery Center of King Khalid Hospital-Hail has successfully ended the suffering of a 22-year-old morbidly obese patient (weighing 210 kg).
Since childhood, he had been suffering from morbid obesity. After due medical examinations, a laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy was decided to him. The surgery was successfully conducted using the cutting-edge endoscopic technology.
The patient was discharged from the hospital in a stable condition, to be subsequently followed up on specific dates. Two months after discharged, he visited the Center and underwent due medical examinations. Currently, he is in a good health, as he lost 30 kg. Also, he is scheduled to follow the healthy diet program prescribed to him until he reaches the healthy weight.
It is noted that the Bariatric Surgery Center of King Khalid Hospital-Hail is enhanced with the state-of-the-art medical equipment and qualified national health staff. It is the first specialized center across the Northern Region. Since its inception, the Center has received more than 5000 cases. Besides, it performed 162 successful surgeries (6 surgeries per week) over the past year.
