20 November 2017
A medical team at Al-Qatif Central Hospital has successfully saved a lady with a big brain tumor that caused a hemiplegia and threatened her life;before she had a rare delicate and sophisticated surgery to have her tumor excised.

According to the Eastern Health Affairs, the patient was brought to the hospital with hemiplegia and suffering from signs of brain tumor. After due radiology and lab tests, she was diagnosed with meningioma. So, doctors decided to have a very delicate surgery at the hospital's neurosurgery department.

"The tumor was pressing on most of the patient's brain, extending from the left to the right side, and directly attached to parietal bone; thus, requiring maximum precaution while excising the affected part of the parietal bone.", stressed the medical team.

“The patient is improving. She has restored her normal mobility. She now receives conservative treatment before a surgery for artificial parietal bone grafting. Al-Qatif Central Hospital conducts such surgeries very efficiently; as the hospital's neurosurgeons enjoy established experience in these operations, especially with top qualified professionals supported with cutting-edge medical appliances.”, added the Eastern Health Affairs.
