Over 399,000 Patients Served by Makkah Hospitals Last Month

According to Makkah Health Affairs, during Muharram, Makkah hospitals provided their medical services to 399,580 patients, including 5,248 inpatients, 5,686 discharged. “Also, the hospitals received 83,981 cases at emergency departments and 62,001 at outpatient departments (with 30,992 admitted to inpatient wards, 2,676 to Adult ICU, and 354 to Pediatric ICU), and performed 1,035 emergency surgeries, 461 scheduled operations, 69 catheterization surgeries, 418 endoscopies, 1,448 birth cases and 5,214 dialysis sessions,” added Makkah Health Affairs.

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Health (MOH) is currently implementing MOH's Performance Program, which aims to boost productivity, performance quality and efficiency of health services in hospitals. The program is in line with the strategic objectives of the National Transformation Program 2020 towards achieving the Saudi Vision 2030. The program covers 70 main hospitals and features over 40 indicators to measure the performance of seven key therapeutic aspects.
