A medical team of Hafr Al-Batin Central Hospital has successfully conducted laparoscopic cholecystectomy in the left hepatic lobe for a woman in her 40s, as she was suffering upper left-side abdominal pain. After due examination, she was diagnosed with gallbladder in the left hepatic lobe. Immediately, laparoscopic cholecystectomy was performed to the patient, and the gallbladder was resected without any side effects. By Allah’s Grace, the surgery was successful, and the patient was put under observation for some days after recovery without any complications. Then, she was discharged from hospital in good health.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Health (MOH) is currently implementing MOH's Performance Program, which aims to boost productivity, performance quality and efficiency of health services in hospitals. The program is in line with the strategic objectives of the National Transformation Plan 2020 towards achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The program covers 70 hospitals and features over 40 indicators to measure the performance of seven key therapeutic aspects, which have positively reduced the waiting times.
