Represented by its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Pediatric Department, East Jeddah Hospital has obtained the accreditation of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) as a training and educational center for the Residency Programs. This accreditation follows an official visit paid by SCFHS's specialized committee to explore the adopted standards, the training mechanism of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, as well as other basic aspects to be secured by a hospital seeking accreditation.
In the same vein, the hospitals' orthopedic surgery department has obtained SCFHS's accreditation as a training and educational center for the Residency Programs. These accreditations motivate providing top quality medical outputs and services, given that the hospital's academic events and activities comply with the required standards. East Jeddah Hospital was inaugurated on 20/06/1437H., with a 300-bed capacity. So far, its emergency has served 8,838 cases. Also, 2,691 operations has been done, 32,631 patients have been received by its outpatient clinics.
It is noted that the Ministry of Health (MOH) is currently implementing MOH's Performance Program, which aims to boost productivity, performance quality and efficiency of health services in hospitals. The program is in line with the National Transformation Plan 2020 towards achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The program covers 70 hospitals and features over 40 indicators to measure the performance of seven key therapeutic aspects, which have positively reduced the waiting times.
