According to the latest statistic of Asir Central Hospital, last year recorded a considerable increase in the beneficiaries of the hospital's services, both inside and outside the region, with 17,232 cases at outpatient clinics, 119,088 at emergency department, 39,405 at dental center, and 35,702 patients at rehabilitation department. Also, the hospital performed 8,164 surgeries, 274,551 lab tests, and 96721 radiology examinations. Currently, the hospital is carrying out several developmental projects, including intensive care expansion, burns unit, e-archiving, infrastructure rehabilitation, and other projects to promote the quality of health services provided to patients.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Health (MOH) is currently implementing MOH's Performance Program, which aims to boost productivity, performance quality and efficiency of health services in hospitals. The program is in line with the strategic objectives of the National Transformation Program 2020 towards achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The program covers 70 hospitals and features over 40 indicators to measure the performance of seven key therapeutic aspects, which have positively reduced the waiting times.
