The emergency department of Najran Maternity and Children Hospital received a lady in her 40s suffering from abdominal pain, menopause, paleness and hypotension. After due medical checkups, she had a positive pregnancy test result. Radiology also showed a considerable clot in her abdomen with no gestational harness in her uterus. She was diagnosed with ectopic pregnancy and abdominal hemorrhage. So, she had an immediate abdominal exploratory surgery. She was found with excessive abdominal hemorrhage, while her fallopian tubes were intact. She also had bleeding in her large intestine due to the attached gestational harness . By Allah's Grace, the hemorrhage was controlled and the lost blood was supplemented. Then she was followed up in the ICU, then in the impatient ward till she was discharged in good health.
It is noted that the Ministry of Health (MOH) is currently implementing MOH's Performance Program, which aims to boost productivity, performance quality and efficiency of health services in hospitals. The program is in line with the National Transformation Plan 2020 towards achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The program covers 70 hospitals and features over 40 indicators to measure the performance of seven key therapeutic aspects, which have positively reduced the waiting times.
