16 October 2017
Last month, King Abdullah Hospital- Bisha conducted 471 surgical operations. The hospital also received 11,333 outpatients at emergency department and 6,484 at outpatient clinics.

The 355-bed capacity reference hospital in Assir Region has recently conducted a number of spine surgeries, including one for a 45-year-old Saudi woman injured in a traffic accident. After due medical tests, she was diagnosed with an unstable fracture in the first lumbar vertebrae (L1) and 12th thoracic vertebrae (T12), as well as neurological symptoms of fecal incontinence and semi-paralysis in the lower left side of her body. By Allah’s Grace, she had a surgical operation to fixate the stable vertebrae with rods and bolts. The operation was successful and she is now in good health, thank Allah.

It is noted that the Ministry of Health (MOH) is currently implementing MOH's Performance Program, which aims to boost productivity, performance quality and efficiency of health services in hospitals. The program is in line with the National Transformation Plan 2020 towards achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The program covers 70 hospitals and features over 40 indicators to measure the performance of seven key therapeutic aspects, which have positively reduced the waiting times.
