Surgery Saves a Patient's Hand from Amputation

A team of vascular surgeons at King Khaled Hospital- Hafr Al-Batin has successfully saved a patient's hand from amputation, after he had a cut in the left upper side of his hand. The artery feeding the injured side was interrupted causing excessive bleeding. Due to his critical condition, the team operated on him and saved his hand from amputation. Also the artery was repaired using a vein taken from him and was given a liter of blood. Thank Allah he was discharged from the hospital and his hand restored its normal condition.
 
During 1438H., the hospital conducted 2,646 surgical operations, and its emergency department provided 167,865 outpatients with emergency and therapeutic services.
 
It is noted that the Ministry of Health (MOH) is currently implementing MOH's Performance Program, which aims to boost productivity, performance quality and efficiency of health services in hospitals. The program is in line with the National Transformation Plan 2020 towards achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The program covers 70 hospitals and features over 40 indicators to measure the performance of seven key therapeutic aspects, which have positively reduced the waiting times.
