28 September 2017
According to Jazan Health Affairs, the cardiac team of Prince Mohammed Bin Nasser Hospital has successfully replaced the aortic valve of a youth in his 20s, who was suffering from acute reflux in the  aortic valve, massive cardiac infarction and cardiomyopathy due to rheumatic heart fever. By Allah Grace, the operation was successful and the patient is improving.

It is noted that the cardiac department of Prince Mohammed Bin Nasser Hospital is one of the key departments which offer cutting-edge cardiac services in the region. Over the past period, 36-bed-capacity hospital has achieved outstanding successes. Recently, a 14-bed-capacity cardiac intensive care unit (CICU) has been inaugurated; thus offering  integrated cardiac services. This also reduces referring cases to other hospitals outside the region.

It is noteworthy that the MOH has launched a daily specialization-based e-Waiting List for surgical operations on its online portal. The list features the MOH's hospitals, along with surgical specializations and corresponding waiting days respectively. The list also includes five levels of waiting days, from one to 180 days. By launching this initiative, MOH aims to update all patients and beneficiaries of services provided by its health facilities on the developmental efforts to boost performance levels, and to provide high quality services to satisfy and meet the health needs of citizens.
