King Khaled Hospital – Najran: Therapeutic Cath Saves a Resident
27 September 2017
By Allah's Grace, the medical team of King Khaled Hospital - Najran has successfully saved a resident in his 50s who had myocardial infarction coupled with acute hypotension and cardiac arrest. The patient was brought to the hospital's emergency with shortness of breath and excessive perspiration resulting in cardiac arrest during electrocardiogram (ECG). The patient received first aid, an electric shock and had a successful C.P.R. Then he was put on the ECMO due to his acute hypotension. After checkup, he was diagnosed with acute anterior myocardial infarction. Immediately, he was referred to the Cath Department. His major coronary Arteries were clogged, as from his anterior descending artery. Thus, the patient had a therapeutic cath and transluminal coronary angioplasty. Thank Allah the surgery was successful, the patient regularly improved, and was discharged in good health six days later.

It is worth noting that the Prince Sultan Cardiac Center at King Khaled Hospital – Najran did 591 successful therapeutic caths last year, under the supervision of highly qualified specialists.
