Plastic surgeons at King Fahad Central Hospital- Jazan have successfully saved a patient's severely injured hand from amputation.
The patient was brought to the hospital with serious injury on his left arm. Immediately, operating room was made ready and doctors performed a 5-hours unique surgery, where a free-tissue from his right thigh to cover exposed tendons and nerves was transplanted, then microscopically connecting them with blood vessels in order to save his hand from amputation. Thank Allah the surgery has been successful. Currently, the patients is under supervision as per a treatment plan and enjoys good health.
