Najran: Malignant Tumor Removed from a Lady Patient
09 August 2017
According to Najran Health Affairs, a team of general surgeons at King Khaled Hospital - Najran has successfully ended the suffering of a 62-year-old lady patient with a malignant tumor extending from her neck to her chest cavity. The tumor has displaced the patient's trachea (windpipe) to the right side, causing respiratory difficulties, feeling suffocated, voice changes and having trouble swallowing.

After due medical processes for such cases, thorough diagnosis by all concerned specialists and elaborate discussions among the medical team - including general surgery, oncology and thoracic surgery, anesthesiology and radiology - to determine surgical intervention or not, mainly due to the patient's old age and other chronic diseases, the team decided a surgical operation, while taking all necessary medical precautions.

Thank Allah the surgery has been successful, and the tumor is fully removed without any complications.
The patient was hospitalized for four days, then discharged in a good stable health.
