A team of doctors of Maternity and Children Hospital - Abha has successfully saved a 5-year-old child suffering from obesity (50KG) by helping her move. The child visited the hospital's emergency department with breathing difficulties and movement inability due to obesity. She also had pulmonary hypertension and sleep apnea.
After due medical tests and analyses, the child was hospitalized in the ICU till her condition stabilized. Then, by Allah's Grace, she had a successful sleeve gastrectomy and was discharged with a sports dietary plan. Following her up in the outpatient clinic, her pulmonary hypertension medication was stopped due to recovery. She is now 34KG, 25KG less in 4 months.
Remarkably, this is the third operation of its kind done in the hospital for obese children. Thank Allah all have been successful.
