By Allah’s Grace, since its inauguration in 2014, the ophthalmology unit at South Al Qunfudah General Hospital has performed 1,187 eye surgeries, including white cataract with lens implant, eye muscle and strabismus, blocked tear duct (dacryostenosis) in children, pterygium removal, ocular injury and eyeball explosion, glaucoma tests and other operations. These surgeries contributed to saving beneficiaries the burden of travelling to reference and peripheral regions, and to providing them with such services at their place of residence.
