More than 1.4 M Visits Conducted by Home Medicine Program over the First Quarter of this Year
10 July 2017
According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), 71.254 patients have benefited from concierge medicine services by the end of the first quarter of this year (2017). Over the same period, 349 medical teams have paid 1.428.090 home visits to patients since the launch of the service in 2009. Also, about 206 hospitals have implemented the Home Medicine Program (HMP).

It is worth mentioning that the Home Medicine Program aims at providing home care services as easy as possible by qualified medical teams to patients in need of these services. Besides, the program enhances the efforts of families to follow-up their patients until they are recovered without too much concern, as well as making more beds available at hospitals to accommodate new patients in desperate need for them.

The program targets palliative and psychiatric patients, diabetes, with bed sores (ulcers) and wounds, tube feeding patients, or those with neurological disorders and strokes.

Furthermore, the HMP provides a host of medical activities and services (therapeutic, preventive, rehabilitative, educational and social) to certain categories of patients in their home populations and relatives, in their places of residence according to specific standards and mechanisms.
