MOH Provides Medical Tips to Patients with Hypertension
29 May 2017
The Ministry of Health (MOH) called upon patients with hypertension to see a doctor before commencing to fast; in order to determine their ability to fast.

The MOH advised them, via an awareness infographic published on its Twitter account, to have medicines that are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) directly after “Taraweeh” prayer; so that the patient’s body has recovered enough fluids. It pointed out through the same infographic that in case the patient forgets the high blood pressure medication; he should directly have it whenever he remembers in the same day. On the other hand, if he remembers the next day, he shouldn’t double the dose.

Within the same vein, the MOH warned patients with hypertension about the importance to reduce the amount of salt consumption and the importance of making low-fat dairy products as part of their meals; because they contain yeast that helps lower blood pressure.

These awareness-raising activities come in continuation of the MOH’s efforts to maintain the health and safety of all members of the community, promote health awareness and provide medical tips to patients with chronic diseases in this holy month.
