07 May 2017
The medical team at Al-Asiah General Hospital succeeded in helping a 40-year-old woman to overcome a case of pre-eclampsia (PE), as she has been suffering from primary infertility for 18 years, in addition to chronic diseases. Then, she gave birth by a cesarean section after six weeks of medical care.

The patient has seen the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic at the hospital, and she was pregnant for the first time after 18 years (of primary infertility), meanwhile suffering from diabetes, hypertension and hypothyroidism. She underwent the medical examination which showed that she was infected with pre-eclampsia. After that, the patient has been hospitalized at Obstetrics and Gynecology Section, and put under the medical care, so as to follow up the diabetes and blood pressure rates. Thus, the condition of pre-eclampsia has been controlled for the whole six weeks.

All praise is due to Allah, the patient gave birth by a caesarean section after 6 weeks of intensive medical care. Due to her old age and the presence of pre-eclampsia, the patient had acute abnormal uterine bleeding due to uterine muscle relaxation. The bleeding has been immediately controlled by a modern surgery, after the uterus had been sealed by surgical thread. The surgery lasted about five hours and the patient has been discharged from the hospital with her baby, both in a good health.
