The surgical team at Hira General Hospital has successfully managed to end the suffering of a 17-year-old Saudi girl, as they removed the inflated part of the intestine and rectum.
The patient was suffering from swelling in the colon and rectum; due to the accumulation of stool or feces inside the intestine over a 17-year period. She had undergone the medical examinations, basic tests and necessary x-rays, which showed loss of the nerves responsible for the rectum and large intestine control. Then, a 3-hour surgery has been conducted to remove the inflated part of the intestine and rectum. The surgery has been crowned with success, and the patient’s health status is currently stable, May Allah be praised.
